At a live event or award ceremony, it’s common to have a Voice Of God or live announcer, welcoming the guests, announcing the speakers onto the stage and giving information about award winners as they receive their awards. The VOG can either voice live at the event, or pre-record their announcements.
As a professional voiceover artist, comedian and presenter, I have extensive experience in this field, having worked alongside celebrities such as Claudia Winkleman, Joel Dommett, Tess Daly, comedian Mark Watson, top impressionist Rory Bremner, DJ and presenter Pat Sharp and GB Olympic swimmer Mark Foster.
Although the announcements need to be clear and authoritative, that does not necessarily mean bombastic. More and more, a natural style is favoured. The voice, unless it’s a style choice does not have to be forced. I’m very happy to work with clients to discuss their event and make sure they have a style and tone that suits the occasion.
It’s always a pleasure to be the Voice Of God for the annual Learning Awards, which are hosted by Claudia Winkleman.
It was great working alongside Tess Daly as the live announcer for The Learning Awards, at The Dorchester Hotel, London.
If your event calls for announcements to be pre-recorded in advance and played “as live,” then that’s no problem! I will record all the announcements before your event and you are also more than welcome to connect to my studio and direct me during the recording process, so you can be sure that you have the exact tone and style that you require.

I was contacted by ITV, to be their Voice Of God, for their prime-time Saturday night 2 part celebrity ice skating show, The Real Full Monty On Ice. They chose a big, booming, Brian Blessed style for their announcements.

Our VOG for the Awards Awards 2019 was the fantastically talented Darren Altman, a pleasure to work with who brought great energy and fun to the proceedings with his many impressions!
The London Local Awards 2021 produced by Global Radio, who own the Capital, Heart, Smooth, XFM, LBC and Classic FM radio networks in the UK.
The brief was a big and ballsy, cheeky style! This was a lot of fun!
